Palakkad is entrance city of kerala from Tamil nadu.Palakkad's culture is unique and different from other cities because it is close to Tamilnadu.There is a sizable Tamil speaking population living through out in the city.There is also Telugu speaking linguistic minority.The food and dressing is also unique and different. Palakkad is the birthplace of so many musicians and writers like Chembai vaidyanatha bhagavathar, M.D.Ramanathan, O.V.Vijayan, M.S.Viswanathan etc.December to May is considered as the festival season of Palakkad.Kalpathy rathaolsav is the main festvel of Palakkad.Kalpathy is also known the heritage village.Very famous Chembai music college is situated in the heart of the city.There is also Ramanathan Music hall, the venue for music near to college .There are so many temples,churches,mosques inside the city.Fine arts society, which helps to bring more artists from all over to perform for the palakakd audience.Fine arts society hall in Tharekkad is the venue where so many great artists performed.In connection with kalpathi Ratholsavam,a national music festvel takes place every year.Puthur music and dance festvel is also famous.Ahalia heritage village near kanjikode is the place where so many sculptures related to Kerala culture can seen and a lot of cultural events takes place there. October to January is the season which so many cultural events like music and dance concerts like Kalpathy national musical fest,fine arts society music festvel,gowri's music and dance festvel,swaralaya music and dance festvel takes place.Onam, vishu, Navarathri, Diwali, Ramzan, Christmas etc. are the main religious festivals.

Main tourist attraction of palakkad is Palakkad fort in the heart of the city and Malampuzha Dam and Malampuzha gardens(15 km from palakkad city heart).Fantasy park, a water theme amusement park is also near to Malampuzha gardens.There is ropeway and snake park near Malampuzha gardens.A beautiful aquarium is also near to gardens.South India's first rock garden is also there in Malampuzha.Ahalia Heritage village is another attraction which is near to Kanjikode.Kalpathy Heritage village is the main tourist attraction in the heart of the city.A lot of temples are other attractions like Hemambika temple,Kodumbu temple, Manappullikkavu Devi temple etc. are the religious places are in the neighborhood places of the city.
