Qutub Minar, New Delhi

Qutub Minar is the the tallest individual minaret in the world and second tallest monument of Delhi is 73m high. It was built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak subsequent to defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. The construction was continued by other rulers after his death. The rest two are built with marble and sandstone. The first ever mosque built in India is also located in Qutub Minar and is known as Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque.

Qutb Minar is a 73-metre (239.5 feet) tall tapering tower of five stories, with a 14.3 metres (47 feet) base diameter, reducing to 2.7 metres (9 feet) at the top of the peak. It contains a spiral staircase of 379 steps.
