Set in lush parkland, this black marble platform marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Situated on the west bank of Yamuna river, it is located near Delhi's Ring road also known as Mahatma Gandhi Road. Across Kishan Ghat road in the North of Raj Ghat, beautiful and serene gardens contain Gandhi Darshan, an area which displays the photos relating to the Mahatma. Raj Ghat is surrounded by other notable memorials of former heads of the state and prominent politicians including Jawaharlal Nehru, Lala Bahadur Shashtri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Shankar Dayal Sharma and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
