About Sri Laxmi Narayan Mandir
One of the largest temples in India and the first in Delhi, the Laxmi Narayan Temple is astonishing in its own way. Built in 1939 and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, the temple complex is an epitome of Hindu culture which houses shrines of not only Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi but also shrines of other Hindu deities. An intricate Nagora-style architectural structure spread over an area of 7.5 acres, it also showcases gardens, fountains as well as glorious statues of rulers like Shivaji Maharaj and Chandragupta Maurya.
