Ghanta Ghar (Jodhpur), Jodhpur

Ghanta Ghar literally means Hour House as Clock House or Clock tower. This is a local market and oldest market underneath the Jodhpur fort. There are several shops which are the oldest and stil serving. This clock tower market host Jodhpur's famous Makhania lassi, Spice market, local utensils and lots of other shops one can explore. This clock tower also host the famous Jodhpur Omelette shop as well. This is located in central part of Jodhpur and it is in close proximity around several famous step well of Jodhpur.

It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh (1880-1911) from whom the market takes it name. In fact, the tower dominates the entire scenario. Beside the tower, there is the Sadar Market that is frequented by tourists on shopping spree. From this market, tourists can purchase Rajasthani textiles, clay figurines, miniature camels and elephants, marble inlay work and classic silver jewellery.
