Lumbini is the pilgrimage site for the Buddhist and as it happens to be the birthplace, Gautam Buddha. His mother Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to him in 623 B.C at this sacred area located in Terai plains of southern Nepal. Lumbini has preserved archaeological remains associated with the birth of the Lord Buddha and they form a central feature for visit.
